Custom Printing? ... How does that work?

Choosing our premium custom printing service means you can have your very own artwork or photograph professionally printed on one of our Lightwraps just for you. What is a Lightwrap®?

Our Lightwraps are original contemporary lamp shades designed and made in Melbourne using carefully selected Australian sourced materials. All our lamp shades are made from premium quality polymer which is 100% recyclable, highly durable, non-toxic, and easy to clean. Lightwraps are easy to assemble our and require no extra fittings or fasteners. We use locally sourced 100% recyclable packaging.

I'd like to hang my Lightwrap® from the ceiling. Are they available as pendant shades as well as table lamp shades?

Yes. All our Lightwraps can be purchased as either a table/bedside lamp or a ceiling pendant lamp. Simply select which style you prefer when ordering. All our ceiling pendant Lightwraps come with the attachment piece which holds the lamp shade in place on the suspension cord, but do not come with the electrical suspension cord itself.

If you do not already have the electrical suspension cord hanging from your ceiling, you can purchase a suspension kit - these act like an extension cord and simply fit into your existing bayonet light fitting - no electrician required! You can get these from your local hardware store or most major lighting retailers. We do not currently stock these.

How does the Draw-Your-Own Lightwrap® Kit work?

The Draw-Your-Own Lightwrap® Kit is a great creative, fun activity for kids to get them away from the computer games! The kit includes one blank pre-cut Lightwrap and washable colour markers to start you off with your creation. Anyone with a creative urge can create their own lamp shade masterpiece simply by drawing directly onto the Lightwrap.

The Lightwrap is ready to draw on, just pick up a pen/crayon/texta/pencil and be creative! You can use the washable markers that come with the kit, or use permanent marker pens, coloured pencils, crayons, or even decorate with stickers! (Hint... If you change your mind a lot we recommend using the washable markers included in your kit ... simply wipe the drawing off with a damp cloth... then start all over again!). Make sure your lamp is disconnected from any power source before you decide to clean it!! Allow your drawing to dry completely before assembling your Lightwrap.

How do I assemble my Lightwrap®?

Hold the printed (or drawn) side facing away from you, with the short edges in opposite hands, Bend the opposite edges together and insert the tabs through the matching slots, at a slight angle, from the outside through to the inside and working from top to bottom. It’s easier to get the top tab in first, then the bottom tab.
If a tab doesn’t insert easily you may need to jiggle it around a little to get it through (this happens because of slight cut variations that occur in the cutting process).
Then simply place the Lightwrap shade over your chosen lamp base or suspend from your ceiling cord with the pendant attachment (supplied with ceiling pendant Lightwraps) At the back of the table Lightwrap there is a little hole to clip the cord into. And your done! Easy peasy!

Is it safe?

Yes. Your Lightwrap shade is made from premium Australian made polymer. It is non-toxic, heat-resistant, and 100% recyclable (in fact... recycling this polymer uses less water than recycling paper products!). Our Lightwraps are made here in Melbourne using only carefully selected Australian sourced materials.

Can I buy Lightwraps® in retail stores?

Do Lightwraps® come in other sizes?

Yes we make a standard small size that is 31.5 cm in height and 14cm in diameter, drum shades in various sizes... and we can also make custom sizes... please contact us with your requirements and we'll do our best to help you out. We are gradually adding our full catalogue to the website... so many options!

Shipping and delivery info

What is your delivery time?

All online orders are normally dispatched within 48 hours Monday to Friday. Orders placed outside of business hours, on a weekend or public holiday will be sent the next business day.

For delivery within Australia please allow 3-5 business days.

For overseas delivery please allow 2-3 weeks depending on shipping destination. During peak times this may be longer.

Please note - we are not responsible for shipping times! If your product has not arrived within the expected time frame please contact us so we can look into it.

Need it in a hurry? No problem! Regular Express and Overnight delivery available please contact Jane via info[at]twolayersofcells.com with your requirements.

For Custom Orders please allow an extra 7-10 days.

Where is your free shipping to?

Our free shipping is for items within Australia only. We now offer international shipping for our lamp shades at a flat rate of AUD$35 sent via Australia Post registered airmail. Please note that we currently only supply Australian & New Zealand power plugs with our products. If you are sending a lamp overseas you will need to determine the appropriate adapter or converter to use for your location.

Returns and exchanges

Can I return or exchange my Two Layers of Cells purchase?

If you have received an incorrect or faulty Two Layers of Cells product, please contact us to arrange a replacement, repair or refund. All our lamp leads and electrical components are covered by a standard 2 year warranty and are manufactured to required standards. However, please contact us if you have any problems with any of our products at any time and we'll do our best to help you out. We want you to enjoy our products for a long time!

Should the LEDs or power adapter that come with our (gorgeous!) light boxes stop working. We will happily replace the adapter or fit new LEDs and ship it back to you. Please note that shipping costs are generally not covered.
